Bangladesh is divided into seven administrative divisions named Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Rangpur and Sylhet. Divisions are subdivided into districts (zila). There are 64 districts in Bangladesh, each further subdivided into upazila (subdistricts) or thana.
Dhaka is the capital and largest city in Bangladesh. Dhaka Division consists of 17 Districts named Dhaka, Madaripur, Rajbari, Faridpur, Gazipur, Gopalganj, Jamalpur, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Netrokona, Shariatpur, Sherpur and Tangail
Rajshahi Division is one of the seven administrative divisions of Bangladesh. Rajshahi Division consists of 8 districts named Bogra, Joypurhat, Naogaon, Natore, Chapainawabganj, Pabna, Sirajganj and Rajshahi
Chittagong division is subdivided into 11 districts named Barhamnbaria, Comilla, Chandpur, Lakshmipur, Noakhali, Feni, Chittagong, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Bandarban, Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong.
Rangpur Division consists of 8 districts named Gaibandha, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh
Khulna Division consists of the 10 districts named Khulna, Kushtia, Bagerhat, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Satkhira, Magura, Narail, Meherpur and Jessore
Barisal Division is subdivided into 6 districts named Barguna, Bhola, Jhalokati, Patuakhali, Pirojpur, Barisal. This division was formed on 1st January of 1993.
Sylhet Division is subdivided into 4 districts named Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Sylhet
